Celebrating Italian Heritage in New Orleans
Committed to keeping our heritage prevalent in New Orleans and paying homage to our forefathers
For the Love of Our Community
The Italian American St. Joseph Society is a 501(c)(3) based in New Orleans and is one of the largest ethnic organizations in the Southeastern United States. We give back to the community through various charitable events and functions.
Founded by Joseph Cardenia and friends in 1970, The Italian American St. Josph Society has climbed to heights of 1500 members in recent years. Our objective is to keep our Italian heritage prevalent in New Orleans, the destination of so many of our forefathers in the 19th and 20th centuries.
New Orleans St. Joseph's Day Parade
Our annual New Orleans St. Joseph’s Day Parade rolls through the French Quarter and part of the Central Business District. An exhilerating experience for NOLA locals and tourists alike, the parade brings the community together in celebration of Italian American culture and highlights the success of both national and local celebrities with Italian roots.
Charitable Opportunities
Throughout the year, we organize several fundraisers, feedings at shelters, food and donation drives, and other opportunities to help the local community.
